About the blog

She aim to share the juanderful stories of her adventure through this blog which she cannot always share with friends and family abroad. Through this, the author also aim to help others to give more guide and tips about traveling through her juanderful experiences. She is a big believer that in every walk of life, there is always a story that is worth sharing for. Actually being a storyteller on her own blog form is one of her dream, and is stoked that she could start one through this.

Meet Pepper!

Born and raise in the Philippines, Pepper is an ambivert and can be omnivert at times. She loves doing solo travels the moment she was bitten by the travel bug.

Like most bloggers, she pursuit a traditional career after college thinking that a desk job in a four corner is the ‘only ticket’ for securing a better future. It took her more than a year to realize that things are not working accordingly and a lot of pieces are missing. Every day that passes by does not thrilled her anymore, that something needs to be done differently. So, she quit despite the fear of ‘being nothing’ is waving on her way.

Two years later after college, Pepper is blessed enough to have a good opportunity to come in Hawaii – and yes, currently residing in Aloha state is one of the best decision she ever did in 2019.

She is still making trips and microadventures inter-island, solo or with friends. Every day was a challenge for her that is why she still need a little nudge to get out from her comfort zone. We all gotta get up, after all this world is not that small as we all thought. There is more to see and explore!

Why “juanderbandit”?

It is no strange to the universe that Spanish vanquished Philippine archipelago for 333 long years. In result, the Spanish influence on Filipino culture has been profound in large communities. Moreover, it is not a surprise to anyone if Filipinos have Spanish first names and even last names. Juan is one of the Spanish names that is massively used amongst Filipinos. It was even used to refer as a Filipino individual. So Pepper got the idea of using ‘juander’ (instead of a typical wander) which means a Filipino wanderer and ‘bandit’ – because sometimes in life, there is no spice and tranquil within if you do not know how to break rules at certain times.

PS; Blogging in English is such a tough thing for the non native English speaker like Pepper. It’s like a night terrors for her. So expect that you will encounter a lot of grammar mistakes as you read along the way. Be with her if you can, feel free to correct her as well, she won’t mind correcting those errors.
